The Abandoned Amusement Park in Bali: Taman Festival

The Taman Festival is a large amusement park located in Sanur that was never completed. Since the park was abandoned 14 years ago, it has literally crumbled. They had also a crocodile pit where the crocodiles should be removed but maybe stay away from it since they could still stay there.

Now the place is full with shaky buildings threatening to fall at any moment. The most buildings have no roofs anymore. Some of the locals refer to the this abandoned amusement park: “ghost town”.

Location: Taman Festival is located along the JL. Pantai Padang Galak road in Sanur. You can also use the Jalan Toll if you come from the Kuta area to prevent any traffic jam.

We stayed at the place around two hours. It’s amazing there but also take your mosquito spray with you since there are a lot around. You should also go there hours before sunset since it’s getting fast dark and you will not be able to enjoy your time there.

Some people ask you to pay 10 000 IDR, don’t pay it. They are just locals that want to make some money without owning the property. If you don’t want to discuss just pay it. That will be faster 😉
